Why You Should Visit Virginia Beach?

In the United States, the city of Virginia Beach is an independent municipality that may be found on the southeast coast of the Commonwealth of Virginia. According to the census completed in 2020, the population was 459,470. Despite its predominantly suburban feel, it is the most populated city in Virginia, the fifth-most populous city in the Mid-Atlantic region, the ninth-most populous city in the Southeast, and the 43rd-most populous city in the United States overall. The most populous city in the Hampton Roads metropolitan area is Virginia Beach, which may be found on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean and near the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. This region is frequently referred to as “America’s First Region,” and it contains the independent cities of Chesapeake, Hampton, Newport News, Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Suffolk, in addition to a number of other smaller cities, counties, and towns of the Hampton Roads area.

There are miles of beaches and hundreds of hotels, motels, and restaurants lined up along the beachfront in the city of Virginia Beach, which makes it a popular tourist destination. Beach soccer competitions known as the North American Sand Soccer Championship and the East Coast Surfing Championships are among the annual events that take place in this city. It is also home to several state parks, several beach areas that have been protected from development for a long period of time, military bases, a number of large corporations, Virginia Wesleyan University and Regent University, the international headquarters and site of the television broadcast studios for Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), Edgar Cayce’s Association for Research and Enlightenment, and numerous historic sites. On April 26, 1607, the first English colonists arrived at Cape Henry, which was located near the point where the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean meet. These colonists subsequently settled in Jamestown, which was located a short distance away.

The city’s beach is recognized as the world’s longest pleasure beach, earning it a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.

It is situated near the terminus of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel, which, up until the opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge in 2018, held the record for being the longest bridge-tunnel complex in the world.
