Talking Cars 404: Driving the 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV

The panel also discusses what might happen when 4G networks are eventually shut down

Main theme: In the ever-expanding world of Mercedes-Benz electric vehicles, the EQS name is used for two models: a sedan and an SUV. While we already discussed the EQS 580 on Talking Cars, in this episode we turn our attention to the SUV. While the sedan is the EV equivalent of the S-Class, the 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV is similar to the large three-row GLS SUV. Unlike that model, however, the EQS SUV is available in both two- and three-row configurations. We bought an EQS 450 4Matic with the optional third row for our test program, and this week we discuss how it fits in the small—but growing—universe of three-row EV SUVs.

Audience question: How will today’s connected vehicles function when the 4G wireless spectrum gets shut down?
